North Elementary Kindergarten & Preschool Registration
 
The Buckeye Local Early Childhood Education (previously Preschool) and Kindergarten registration for 2021/2022 school year has been set for the following dates at Buckeye Local High school.
 
                TUESDAY, MARCH 9  - WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10  - THURSDAY, MARCH 11
 
Early Childhood Education service may be students that are 3 years on or before August 1st.  To be eligible for Kindergarten a child must be 5 years old on or before August 1st.
 
You are encouraged to attend these registrations by appointment ONLY. Please call or email Diane   (740) 769-7395, ext. #1712, or [email protected].  Online registration stations will be made available. Your child does not need to attend registration.  You will need to bring a copy of the Birth Certificate, Social Security Card and Immunization Record.  Those students already attending Buckeye Local do not need to register for PS or Kindergarten.   A summer screening will be held all registered Early Childhood Education students. Kindergarten student screening will be held during the first week of school in August. 
 
If you cannot attend registration, you may register online at buckeyelocal.net.  Please remember you will need the above mentioned forms emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Buckeye Local School District, 6899 St. Rt. #150, Dillonvale, OH  43917. 
 
The Immunization Records for preschool and kindergarten should include four or more doses of vaccine for DTaP, DTP, or DT, three or more doses of OPV or IPV in any combination, one (preschool) or two (kindergarten) doses of MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) administered after the first birthday, and 3 doses of Hepatitis B.  Students will need to show proof of receiving one dose (PS) and two doses (K) of the Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine prior to entry unless the student has naturally had the chickenpox.  Preschoolers only will be required to show proof of receiving the Haemophilus Influenzae Type b (HIB) vaccine and the number of doses may vary depending on age given. 
 
Mary Kay Mayle, RN, BSN, school nurse will review these records.  Any incomplete records may be taken care of through your family physician, the Jeff. Co. Health Department, Mon.- Fri. from 9:00am to 11:00am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The Health Department will accept a medical card, many insurances or the cost of $20.00 per shot. No one will be turned away if they are unable to pay. Local pharmacies may also have the shots available. Students with incomplete immunization records and/or required documents will be placed on a waiting list for registration. Registration will be completed when all required forms are on file.
 
Preschool Only – Please Read
 
Parents are asked to bring a form of income verification, needed when completing the PS Fee Application.   The application will be made available during registration.  Valid income verification can be one of the following:  W2 Form, Check Stub, Tax Form, OWF Case Number, Food Stamp Number or Medical Card.  Based on the Preschool Application, if payment is required, a 20% fee payment is required to be paid at your child’s screening appointment.
 
A list of criteria for the entry into the All Day Preschool Program is below.   Please be aware that acceptance into the all day program is NOT based on “first come, first served” during registration.
 
  1. Students must be 4 years old by August 1st.
  2. Registration MUST be received by August 1st to be considered for a spot.  Any registration that is received after August 1st will be put on a waiting list for the all day program.
