The Extended Learning Center at West Elementary is an excellent opportunity to reach our students in more than academics. Students that bring in the permission slip will be able to engage in daily activities such as music, art, games, homework assistance, and character building.
The program also coincides with the After School Dinner Program which provides a free dinner to those students who are signed up and stay for the Extended Learning Center.
Students can also take advantage of the After School Dinner Program even if they don't take advantage of the Extended Learning Center; however, those students will dismiss school as usual and then must be brought back by a parent or guardian. The parent or guardian must stay with that student until they eat. Meals are only available to students.
The Extended Learning Center is Monday - Friday from 3:30-6:30. However, please take note that bus transportation picks up students at 5:30, and students who are being picked up by parents must be picked up by 6:00.
Both programs are not available on snow days or any other day school is not is session.
